Greetings From The University Librarian

Colleagues – the release of this quarter's newsletter provides me with the opportunity to introduce myself and to say how much I look forward to working with you and your students in the coming months and years. With the University’s new strategic plan taking shape, I find that I have arrived at DePaul at a critical time in the history of its libraries, and a time when active engagement with our faculty and students will be crucial to our ongoing success and to our ability to support teaching, learning, scholarship, and service at the University. Whether your focus is access to collections, access to the expert assistance provided by our librarians, or a greater understanding of our commitments to enhancing the physical and digital service environment that we provide to faculty, staff, and students on the Lincoln Park Campus, the Loop Campus, and suburbs, I look forward to hearing your ideas and your concerns, and to working with you to ensure that the library remains at the heart of the academic enterprise at DePaul. We are excited by the opportunities that we in the library will have to contribute to the goals outlined in the strategic plan, and I will be visiting faculty across campus in the coming months to learn more about how the DePaul University Libraries can help you to achieve your goals as teachers and scholars. In shaping our own strategic plan for the coming years, I will be working closely with my colleagues in the library, in Teaching and Learning Resources, and on our advisory committees. If you are interested in taking part in a library advisory group, or have a concern (or a compliment) about the library that you would like to share, please let me know. This is your library, and we always welcome your feedback and your ideas.
