The Curriculum Materials Collection (CMC) is composed of materials of practical use in the creation of lesson plans and curriculum units for education coursework. It includes children’s literature and trade books, K-12 textbook sets, activity books and curriculum guidelines. There are also science kits and pre-K manipulatives as well as a small reference collection of bibliographies to support the scope of the collection. There are no periodicals in the CMC.
The CMC is located in the northwest corner of the first floor of the Richardson Library. It is available whenever the Richardson Library is open, and members of the public are welcome. All of the materials circulate to the DePaul community, except the reference collection and the science kits. In the Library Catalog, items in the collection are denoted with the call number prefix ERC or CMC.
The space is available for classes to meet and use the collection and for individuals or groups wishing to work with the collection.
The primary users of this collection are students in the School of Education, but the collection is available to all DePaul students, faculty, and staff. Teachers in the community are welcome to use the collection on-site, as the library is open to the public.
