DeAndreis-Rosati Memorial Archives > Vincentian Seminaries


The archival collections of the Western Province of the Congregation of the Mission are administered by the DePaul University Library's Special Collections and Archives Department. Known as the DeAndreis-Rosati Memorial Archives (DRMA), these collections were moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2001 from Saint Mary's of the Barrens Seminary in Perryville, Missouri and in 2010 from St. Vincent de Paul Center in Montebello, California. In accordance with its legal and canonical responsibilities, the Western Province retains ownership and through its provincial superior determines access and use policies.

1DeAndreis Seminary, Lemont, Illinois
Description: Records of DeAndreis Seminary, established in 1964 when the College of Theology was moved from St. Mary's of the Barrens. The collection dates from 1954 to 1987.

2St. Mary's of the Barrens Seminary, Perryville, Missouri
Description: Records of St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville, Missouri, the historic seat of the American Vincentians established in 1818. It has served as an educational institution, a Vincentian house of formation, and a Vincentian community residence. The collection dates from 1818 to 2006.

Description: Records of the Vincentian Minor Seminary, located in Beaumont, Texas, dating from 1958 to 1980.

4St. Vincent de Paul Seminary, Lemont, Illinois
Description: Records of the Vincentian Minor Seminary located in Lemont, Illinois dating from 1955 to 1991.

5St. Vincent's College, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Description: Records of St. Vincent's College, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, established in stages between 1838 and 1843. It served as a college for lay students, seminary, minor seminary, and retreat center. The collection dates from 1843 to 1995.
