How do I find foreign films?

The easiest way to locate films from other countries in which the primary language is not English is to apply limits to your search of the library catalog. Here's how you can do that:

  1. Go to the Library Catalog. First, click on the "More Limits" button, located to the far right of the search screen, towards the bottom.
  2. At the More Limits screen, select the language(s) based on the films you'd like to search for. You can select more than one language by using the control button (for PC users) or the Apple key (for Mac users). The most common languages appear at the top, and a much longer list of possibilities follows.

  3. Click "Set Limits." This will save your selections and take you back to the search screen.

  4. For a very broad search, type "videorecording" -- this should retrieve all DVD and VHS titles within the language limits you've set. You could also choose to type a search term, eg women, in the box and select "Films/Videos/DVDs" from the Quick Limits drop down menu.
