DePaul University Libraries
FAQ
Can I do research from my home or office?

Current DePaul students, faculty and staff can use the library´s full-text article databases, electronic books , DePaul WorldCat Local, and other resources from anywhere in the world via the university´s proxy server. When you select a resource from outside the library, you´ll be prompted to log in. Type your Campus Connection user ID and password. This is the same password you use when you register for classes online.

If you have a valid Campus Connection password but are denied access to a database, here are some troubleshooting tips:

  • Only these special characters are supported:  ! @ # $ * ( ) - _ { } ; : / ?
  • Note that % ^ & + are excluded. If you have one of these symbols in your password, remove it and see if your access problem is resolved.
  • Another quirk that has been reported is not changing enough of your password. If you have a particularly long password and do not change at least one of the first 8 characters, the proxy server may fail to recognize it as being changed.

If you can successfully log into Campus Connection, and you have reset your password, but still experience difficulty, please contact us for assistance.
