Current DePaul students, faculty and staff can access library resources from anywhere in the world, using their Campus Connection login to authenticate when prompted. Please note that, due to licensing restrictions, alumni may only access databases and other online resources on campus within designated library computer labs. (See full information on alumni privileges).
Here are some troubleshooting tips:
- Can you log in to Campus Connection? If CC is down, remote access authentication will also be down.
- Have you tried accessing multiple databases? It's possible you're receiving an error message because an individual database is unavailable. If you can get into some databases, but not one in particular, please alert us through Ask a Librarian.
- Are you attempting to use a bookmark, a link you emailed to yourself, or one posted by your instructor? You cannot typically bookmark search results and expect those links to work later. Links that are emailed or posted outside of the library website may not be constructed properly and fail to authenticate you.
- Are you trying to request something through the library catalog or ILLiad? You should be using the barcode number that appears on the back of your DePaul ID card. If the barcode number is not recognized, please alert us through Ask a Librarian.
- Did you recently change your Campus Connection password? Avoid including more than one required special character, such as ! @ # $ ^ * ( ) - _ { } ; : / ? . < > in your password. Note: the plus symbol + is not listed as an acceptable special character. If you changed your password in keeping with this advice and you still cannot authenticate, contact the Technology Contact Center (TCC) either by phone, 312-362-8765, or by submitting a case through your Campus Connection account.
