DePaul University Libraries
FAQ
Can I place a photocopy on the reserve shelf for my course?

The Libraries no longer support the use of photocopy materials on reserve.  We can provide course readings in formats available online, through

  • scanning materials that we own into Adobe Acrobat PDF files
  • providing web links to journal articles, databases, e-books, and other materials that we subscribe to
  • providing web links to publically accessible material on the Internet

If your request for readings from a book exceed fair use under DePaul's copyright policy (one chapter or 10% of the total, whichever is greater) there’s always the option to put the entire text on the reserve shelf, with loan period options ranging from 1 hour to 2 weeks.
