Women's Caucus of the Modern Language Association

Included in this collection are materials from the various WCML Presidents, the most recent Ellen Cronan Rose of Drexel University, as well as from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, which formerly housed the WCML collection.

The Women's Caucus for the Modern Languages began as a division of the Modern Languages Association (MLA) in 1970. The development of the Caucus is well documented within the correspondence and memoranda. Caucus membership consists of women scholars, mostly in the liberal arts and sciences from all over the world.

Concerns, WCML's in-house publication, includes reviews of articles and books written by women, often pertaining to women's issues, as well as announcements of informative seminars and scholarly lectures devoted to women's issues.
